About

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) of the Philippines recently hosted the 2015 ASEAN Quality Assurance Network Seminar and Roundtable Meeting (2015 AQAN SRTM) with the theme "Quality Assurance in ASEAN:  Issues, Challenges and Outcomes" as well as the ASEAN Plus Three Quality Assurance Experts Meeting, which focused on student mobility in ASEAN, at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Manila, Philippines.

The two events aimed to serve as a platform of knowledge exchange among AQAN members, local and international quality assurance experts on current concerns of quality assurance of higher education in the ASEAN region.

On 1 September 2015, a closed-door meeting of the AQAN Executive Committee was conducted.

On 2 September 2015, the AQAN Seminar was held.  It was participated by the AQAN members, QA experts from Japan, and local participants from the Philippines which were composed of heads of higher education institutions, accrediting agencies, international organizations, and other stakeholders.  There were about 280 participants of the seminar.

On 3 September 2015, the 2015 AQAN Roundtable Meeting was conducted and this served as the general assembly of all AQAN members.  The ASEAN Plus Three (APT) QA Experts Meeting was also held the same day which was attended by the National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation (NIAD-UE), representing Japan and the AQAN members.  Although the APT QA Experts Meeting was a closed-door meeting, presentations are also shared to the public.
